The Baby and Me Birthlight Baby Yoga course is split into multiple levels. The first is for babies continuing on from Baby Massage or 8 weeks plus, this is the Introduction to Baby Yoga class and is a very slow and gentle start to your yoga journey. The second is Baby Yoga, suitable for babies 12 weeks to pre crawling. The third is for babies that are beginning to find their own movement to roughly 18 months.
All classes deepen the bond between adult and baby, giving both confidence in how to be together physically and how to connect emotionally. Baby yoga helps to develop and stimulate your baby's brain, the circulation of their blood, aids natural deep sleep, helps combat the discomfort of gas, colic and reflux and brings deep joy and fun to your baby's life. There are lots of benefits for adults too! We practice gentle exercise at the appropriate level for your postpartum body regaining strength and awareness of your core and pelvic floor muscles. There is a connection to your breath and how to practice relaxation techniques with or around your baby.
Each class is a progression on the week before and no two classes will ever be exactly the same. We have lots of songs and rhymes which allows you the opportunity to try out these moves at home outside class. There are also special themed weeks for things like Burns day, Valentines, Easter and holidays!
The Baby Yoga (only) classes are suitable for parents/carers and babies from 12 weeks to 18 months - £8 per class (with a discount on classes booked per term).
Private classes are available from birth to age 7 for Baby Massage and 12 weeks to 18 months for Baby Yoga, please contact me if you require any further information
